• British Airways will pay its 4,000 pilots 50% of their wages for two months
• Over 30,000 staff across the airline will be furloughed as part of the gov scheme
• No staff will be made redundant due to coronavirus
• Crew are facing up to 55% pay cut in new contracts
• MPs have called a move to fire and rehire staff on new contracts "a national disgrace", and "well below the standards we would expect from any employer"

• On 22 March, EasyJet said they would go ahead with a £174 million dividend payout to shareholders. They said they're not seeking a tax payer bailout
• On 6 April, the airline announced it had secured a £600m loan from UK Treasury and Bank of England
• 4,000 of 9,000 staff will be furloughed during April and May

• Ford will begin manufacturing ventilators, with a target of producing 50,000 within 100 days, and 30,000 each month thereafter
• Workers in Ford factories, which have now closed, will receive full pay going forward
• But, it isn't fair for everyone. The cleaners in the factory in Dagenham, who are employed by a separate company Hamton Environmental, are being furloughed and are only getting 80% of their pay
• Ford have loaned 200 vehicles to the NHS and other organisations

• Jaguar Land Rover is lending more than 160 vehicles globally to emergency response groups. This includes 57 vehicles being lent to the British Red Cross
• The company has been ramping up face visor production, and can now produce 14,000 visors a week, free of charge, for NHS staff

• It has donated 60,000 facemasks to hospitals in the UK and Ireland

• The Mercedes F1 team has developed a breathing aid, reverse engineering it from an older device. They've made the new design freely available and will be distributing 10,000 of the devices to the Government.

• The majority of staff are furloughed
• A team of volunteers at Nissan have started production of aprons for the NHS. Initially, 18,000 aprons will be made per week, with plans to increase this to over 70,000 soon

• SEAT has started producing ventilators using a team of 150 employees at its factory near Barcelona.

• Stena Line is not paying employees who have coronavirus or need to self-isolate. They will only receive statutory sick pay. The company apparently usually has generous sick policy

• Sykes are refusing to issue refunds despite telling some customers they cannot access their booked accomodation
• The only offer of a refund is credit towards a future holiday
• When customers do rebook for the same dates a year later, they're finding prices are much higher
• Finally, holiday home owners who advertise their homes through Sykes were originally told that if they removed their properties they would have huge fees

• TUI has furloughed 11,000 staff in the UK

According to internal documents that I have seen: 

• TUI has also cancelled the contracts of Summer Cabin Crew, asking staff to pay for their own postage to return any equipment and uniforms to the office.

• Travelodge gave one council four hours notice to relocate families and vulnerable people after deciding to immediately close. Temporarily housed residents were as old as 84
• They requested that the rent due on their properties is reduced by 80 per cent this year and 50 per cent next year. It accounts for half their fixed-costs
• They are being paid by the government to provide accommodation for homeless people

• Virgin Atlantic has asked staff to take eight weeks paid leave across six months, this is about a 30% pay cut
• Richard Branson has since said he's investing £215 million in the airline
• ‍The airline is expected to seek a government bailout in the coming days
• No news on if staff will be furloughed as part of the Gov scheme

It is unclear what the the company can afford, and if it can stay solvent. It's not getting a 'nope' rating just yet, though I will keep this updated in the coming days
